Minecraft Update 1.8 Is (officially) Live

We are aware that Minecraft version 1.8 (also referred to as the "Adventure Update") is available through semi-official means since the end of last week following an Mojang developer leaked the update with the studio's blessing. If you're not interested in going through the file, you can download the update via the Minecraft launcher, which has been made available to all users.

We realize this doesn't affect our more tech-savvy, file-hunting readers If you share our anxiety about downloading a game update that is secretly an illegal bestiality porno virus, you can now download the update for free of this particular concern.

[Thanks, Richard.]
